The Principle of Infinite Recurrence
In the IIP-VGF framework we recognise that the world is built on the principle of infinite recurrence (starting logically prior to quantum coherence itself). The canonical mathematical model of this principle is the quadratic tensor recursion (QTR):
or more fully (with real and imaginary values):
The QTR has three regimes, the alpha, the beta, and the gamma. The alpha is the generative recursion, the beta is the regime where recursion stabilises into closures, and the gamma is the regime where closures and systems of closures have become fully and generally irreversibly stabilised.
So under the QTR dynamics the regime of stabilisation dynamics, beta, results from the alpha recursion, and ends in a finally fully stabilised regime, gamma. Cosmologically the gamma domain includes the stable but nonetheless evolving material phenomena as we encounter it in the classical world.
In the framework the evolution of classical material phenomena in the gamma domain happens not just through the gamma domain itself which is how it is currently intuited in a naive realism view of science. Rather, it happens through the feedback loop between the beta and the gamma.
Conscious experience arises in the beta regime, but it arises through the existence of the fully stabilised gamma domain, which in physics is stable material phenomena and its laws. So the gamma domain includes the stable material medium of conscious experience, the salient example of which is brain function. However, what goes on in that functioning is far less stable, and is in the beta domain.
There is coupling between the gamma and beta domains. The gamma domain is not an isolated domain but the stabilised decoherence of the beta domain, and conscious experience in evolutionary organisms involves experience of the environment which is the more stabilised gamma domain. This coupling isn't "one way" but is a constrained feedback loop (although there is in general always a part of the gamma domain that is irreversible).
The QTR describes the infinite recursion which gives rise to proto-closures and then stable closures within the vast field of generativity that infinite recursion gives rise to. This is the VGF or vast generative field. Any coherent closure that evolves buys its coherence and stability at the expense of fidelity to the generative coherence from which it evolved. Thus all evolution is VGF decoherence through the constant exchange of fidelity for new stability (and the new fidelity associated with the new stability).
Quantum coherence is a generative domain of fidelity in its own right, which after quantum decoherence attains stability first as the measurement basis probabilities, and then as definite outcomes, by progressively losing fidelity to each original generative domain. The probability stage (reduction to the diagonal of a density matrix) is coupled to the nature of evolutionary intelligence itself, through the same principle of evolution by VGF decoherence.
This all happens under the ongoing principle of infinite iteration or recurrence - the alpha domain. The alpha gives rise to the beta, and beta constantly undergoes evolution through decoherence into gamma.
So the gamma world of stable classical material phenomena - the environment of evolving intelligence - doesn't evolve out of nowhere. It evolves out of the beta domain which begins, when applied to evolution and in evolutionary terms, logically prior to quantum decoherence itself. Thus quantum decoherence, classical evolution, the evolution of organisms and the evolution of intelligence all arise from the same generative source - the principle of infinite iteration.
